Our attitude makes a difference in all we do. What should our attitude be? “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:5-11. |

We serve others because Jesus taught us to; “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Mark 10:45 (New International Version) We must see that all of us are spiritually poor and bankrupt before God (Matt. 5:3), and even when we put on our best moral efforts for God, we appear as beggars clothed in filthy rags (Isa. 64:6). Yet in Jesus Christ, God provided a righteousness for us (Rom. 3:21-22), a wealth straight from the account of the Son of God, who impoverished himself through suffering and death that we might receive it (2 Cor. 8:9). Tim Keller, Ministries of Mercy
"This is the kind of fast day I'm after: to break the chains of injustice, get rid of exploitation in the workplace, free the oppressed, cancel debts. What I'm interested in seeing you do is: sharing your food with the hungry, inviting the homeless poor into your homes, putting clothes on the shivering ill-clad, being available to your own families. Do this and the lights will turn on, and your lives will turn around at once. Isaiah 58:6-9a |

Hope for Atlanta Update - Spring 2009
Some people go to other countries to experience new cultures, surroundings, and the lost. It is at “Hope for Atlanta” located in Atlanta Georgia that one finds an Hispanic community tucked away in Atlanta that is like walking into a little Mexico. Here my team of six people from Oral Roberts University found Tim and Angela, who have dedicated their life, love, and literal blood, sweat and tears for these Latino people. We got to partner with this ministry and for the week that we were there, we were able to work in the children’s day care, teach English to their mothers, do some painting for the apartment complex, and tutor children after school in reading and math … READ MORE OF NEWSLETTER, CLICK HERE... |
